Ráiteas Preas: (translation attached), 17ú Bealtaine 2012

Seo cóip PDF den ráiteas, PDF copy of statement available here.

Beidh taispeántas póstaeir agus ráiteas eisithe ón eagraíocht ‘thefuture Initiative’ ar an Luan seo chugainn (21ú lá) ag Meán Lae 12:00, taobh amuigh de gheataí Dáil Éireann, Teach Laighean, Baile Átha Cliath.

thefuture Initiative ag iarraidh ar dhaoine vótáil i gcoinne an Conradh.

Tá feachtas faoi lán seoil againn; ar líne, i measc ár gcairde féin agus os comhair an phobail.  Mar chuid lárnach den fheachtais seo tá 350 póstaeir crochta in airde againn, tá siad le feiceáil thar timpeall ar chathair Chorcaí agus áiteanna i bPort Láirge agus i mBaile Átha Cliath.  Tá dhá phointe dhéag dhifriúla ar fad ar na póstaeir, agus iad ar meascán dathanna chun aird a tharraingt orthu.

An príomh rud a sheasann amach ar na póstaeir seo ná gur i nGaeilge ar fad atá siad, é sin ráite, is é an teachtaireacht an rud is tábhachtaí orthu.  Ar na póstaeir tá na ráiteasí:

  1. Gadaíocht atá ann! Ní ar mhaithe le hÉireann atá na Bainc idirnáisiúnta ag obair.
  2. Ní gá dúinn bheith faoi chois nó ag brath ar aoinne – Tír iontach saibhir atá againn!
  3. Tá na Bainc agus an AE ag iarraidh níos mó Smachta orainn – Gan aon fhreagracht!
  4. Rinneadar iarracht gan aon Reifreann a chur ar siúl – Cén fáth? Bréaga!
  5. Bréaga ón rialtas, arís is arís eile – Cuimhnigh ar na geallúintí falsa a thugadar anuraidh!
  6. Is ionann an Conradh Fioscach seo agus Géilleadh do Sclábhaíocht fhad-téarmach!
  7. Tá cúrsaí eacnamaíochta na tíre scriosta acu cheanna – Is malartú slí atá ag teastáil!
  8. Ná géill don bhulaíocht! Easpa daonlathais atá taobh thiar den Conradh
  9. Ag cur dallamullóg orainn atá siad – Ná Géill don Bhagairt ón Aontas Eorpaigh!
  10. Ná Géill Dóibh! Is chun lucht na mBannaí agus na mBanc a shábháil atá an Chonradh seo
  11. Ní féidir Forbairt Dhúchasach a Dhéanamh leis an bPolasaí seo – Athraigh é!
  12. Tá an Rialtas ag obair ar son na mBanc agus na nGrúpaí Suimithe! Cuir stad leis an bhfeall

Tá muid ag iarraidh dhíriú ar an mór fhadhb atá timpeall ar an ábhar seachas na mion pointí dlíthiúil a bhaineann leis.  Is é an mór fhadhb son ná go bhfuil Éire faoi chois – agus méadóidh an Conradh Fioscach seo an fhadhb seachas cabhrú linn.

Beidh a thuilleadh le rá againn faoin gConradh Fioscach sa ráiteas a bhfoilseoimid ar an Luan, beidh sé sin ar fáil freisin tríd an suíomh idirlíon ag meán lae ar an lá céanna.

Ar an Luan, beidh na póstaeir go léir á thaispeáin againn in aon áit amháin don céad uair agus cuirfimid fáilte roimh aoinne ar mhaith leo ceisteanna a chur, grian grianghraif a thógainn nó chun caint linn mar geall ar an reifreann nó an ráiteas a bheidh á chur amach againn ag an ócáid seo.

[box type=”info”]The Fiscal Treaty[/box]

Press Release:   17th May 2012

There will be a display of posters and a  statement issued from the organisation ‘thefuture Initiative’ next Monday (21st) at midday 12:00, outside the gates of Dáil Éireann, Leinster House, Dublin.

thefuture Initiative is asking people to vote against the Treaty.

We have a campaign running in full flight, online, amongst our own friends and in the public arena.  As a central part of this campaign we have hung up 350 posters , they can be seen around Cork city and in parts of Waterford and Dublin.  There are twelve different messages on the posters, and with a mixture of colours to attract attention.

The primary thing that stands out on these posters is that they are fully in Irish, that said, the message is the most important thing about them.  The following statements are on the posters:

  1. It is robbery! It is not for the good of Ireland that the international Banks are working.
  2. We don’t need to be oppressed or dependent on anyone – We have a very rich country!
  3. The Banks and the EU want more controls over us – without any accountability!
  4. They tried not to have any referendum – Why? Lies!
  5. Lies from the government, again and again – Remember the false promises they made last year!
  6. Accepting this Fiscal Treaty is the same as Yielding to long-term Slavery!
  7. They have already destroyed our economy – a change in direction is what is needed!
  8. Don’t give in to the bullying! Lack of democracy is what is behind this Treaty.
  9. They are deceiving us – Don’t yield to the threat of the European Union!
  10. Don’t yield to them! Is it to save the bondholders and the banks that we have this Treaty.
  11. You can’t have domestic development with this policy – Change it!
  12. The Government is working for the Banks and Vested Interests groups! Stop the trechary!

We are trying to focus on the major problem that surrounds this issue, as opposed to the detail of legal points involved.  That major problem is that Ireland is  under domination, and this Fiscal Treaty will add to the difficulty rather than help us.

We will have more to say about the Fiscal Treaty in the statement that we will publish on Monday, that will also be available through our website at midday on the same day.

On Monday, we will be displaying all the posters together for the first time and we welcome anyone who wishes to put questions, take photographs or speak with us about the referendum or the statement that we will be releasing at this event.
