'A Declaration to the Conscience of Humanity'
Following the devastation and horror of World War II the international community was determined that fascism would not recur, that disputes would be settled by peaceful means only, and that the rights of the peoples to self-determination would be recognised.
These Founding Principles of the United Nations Organisation were agreed and signed on the 26th June 1945 – they reflect, even today, the deepest wishes of humanity.
These principles are the basis for peace, for social progress and for civilisation in our modern world.
However, these high principles were violated very quickly. The forces of imperialism have been working to dismantle them and have unleashed their predatory wars ever since.
How could the children of Gaza have any hope in the resolutions of the United Nations, or in the numerous expressions of concern from the ‘international community’ – while they continue to be butchered.
The betrayal of peace and the abandonment of the international rule of law has advanced year after year, today it is no more than a fig leaf of pretence.
Today, the ‘international community’, in practice, accepts that ‘might is right’ – principles have no value, human life is a bargaining chip and is never allowed to curtail the insatiable greed of Bankers, Giant Corporations or their ‘investments’.
In truth, the same corporations that financed the rise of Nazism and Hitlerite Germany have been the cheerleaders of Zionism today – they were never prosecuted at Nuremberg.
They have built international culture, economy and politics very well described in the term ‘the Epstein Class’ – it is nothing less than naked fascism.
We have continuous wars, enslavement of whole peoples, stealing of resources – and generally, if anyone objects they are targeted.
So today this blog, and freedom loving people everywhere, are standing with the Islamic Republic of Iran, it represents hope in a very dangerous world.
Ireland has struggled to assert our sovereign right for over 800 years, and this continues, because such independence is necessary to our future.
The Republican ideal came into Irish politics with the United Irishmen in the 1790s, it has evolved ever since, and continues to advance – that is our primary focus.
But what we wish for ourselves we wish for all peoples. The Iranian people established their republic according to their own wishes, their own values, and to serve their own interests – that is what we need to do as well.
Iran’s stand against unprovoked and illegal attacks by the US-Israel is an inspiration. They have remained cool-headed, following a well prepared strategy that has left the aggressors powerless.
Iran has prepared for this aggression, they are virtually self sufficient in all the essentials of their economy and their defence – acting as the truly independent people that they are.
We are delighted to share the ‘Declaration to the Conscience of Humanity’, it was published in early April 2026.
